Head Coach Bobby Imamura

This is my sixth season as head coach of the South High Girls' Basketball program and like always, it is an amazing experience to work with such great young ladies. They always play with such energy and intensity, and I am proud how each one of them leaves it all on  the floor. Last winter the season started off well. We got two third place finishes and a first place finish in our preseason tournaments. More importantly, the girls really got to gel off the court at the Monterey Tournament. Then our league presented us with a variety of challenges. The biggest one being injuries. This would force other girls to step into different types of roles that they were not used to. Overall, I am proud of how my team adjusted to the adversity that this season presented and I am looking forward to a great season this winter.

Coach Jamie Washington

This is my 13th year here at South Torrance  saying. I've been blessed to have such talented players. I'm excited to see us grow and develop. Last season we had a rough start to the summer bur bounced back towards the end and even won the San Diego Classic.  The girl's hard work and dedication has brought them a long way.  I've been blessed to be around this program for the last thirteen years. Each year brings different players , different experiences, different challenges but it's what I love about it the most and it keeps me on my toes. I love what I do  and Thank God everyday for the ability to do what I do. It's been an honor and pleasure to be a part of what we are building at South and be a part of this team. I'm looking forward to another great season.

Coach Barry Deutsch

Last season we laughed, cried a little, and learned a lot from each other. They all worked hard, and tried their very best in every game. I am shocked by the huge progress each and every one of them has made since we started. My wish for the current Frosh/Soph team members is that they continue to work hard at everything they do, that their mental toughness allows them to conquer the toughest challenges, that they are gracious, kind, and supportive to their teammates, and that they show gratitude to their parents for the opportunity to play basketball in high school. As always, I enjoy being part of the coaching staff and learning new ideas and tactics from Coach I and Coach J. These two coaches are a tremendous inspiration and asset to our program. I look forward to many years of continuing our coaching together..
Coach Trent Hagiya
This is my fifth year coaching at South. Both of my sisters and I played basketball at this school so I'm very proud to be back helping the program any way I can. I coach because I love basketball, and having personally gone through what these girls have, I want to pass on my experiences to help them become better players and people. Seeing them develop, not just as players, but also as individuals, becomes my reward and satisfaction. So many lessons in basketball translate to other aspects of life and sharing those messages onto them is truly gratifying.
Coach Ashley Cascio
This is my third year at South as teacher and coach. I started coaching two years ago when I first started because I love basketball and wanted to be able to share my passion and knowledge with others. I graduated and received my teaching credential at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. While at Cal Poly, I played for the women's team and learned so much about the game. I really enjoy being there for these girls and spending  everyday helping them grow as basketball players. Each player is extremely special and have their own unique personality and talent to bring to the team.
